From Peterborough to the Adelaide Hills, this wedding season has been one of extreme contrast from one wedding to the next. It's why I love this job! One week I'm in near outback S.A. and the next, I'm atop Mount Lofty in that gorgeous morning mist meeting once again with a bride and her husband to be.
Once again, my fiancé Howie was by my side as my second shooter for the day. He spent the morning with Adam and his brother capturing all those precious pre ceremony moments before meeting me later in the day when the bride and groom would see each other for the first time.
Adam and Kassie came to me last year to ask me to photograph their April wedding at Mount Lofty House this year. Since then, I've got to know a little bit about each of them and one thing I can say for sure is that they may well be one of the most relaxed and easy-going couples around. Nothing could dampen the mood on the day of their wedding, not even the few light showers that were delivered on the day! With the rain seemingly settled in to stay, the ceremony was moved indoors to the Coach House, which made for a beautifully intimate ceremony.
The entire day had this incredibly relaxed and humble vibe to it. Which I'm sure was just an extension of the awesome people that Adam and Kassie have attracted into their lives. Somewhat understated but exquisitely and beautifully styled, their wedding day was an event I certainly wont be forgetting in a hurry! Just as the ceremony finished up the rain became nothing more than a light mist and we were able to get outside for a short walk in the chilly misty air of Mount Lofty.
The weather certainly made for some incredible shots, but with the fear of the bride and groom catching hypothermia, we thought it best to get back to their guests and let the celebrations continue.
The bride and groom were announced, meals were served and speeches were made. Once the formalities of the reception had passed it was time for some serious dancing. Of course, Kassie and Adam performed their first dance together as husband and wife, but what followed was possibly some of the most impressive dancing I've seen yet at a wedding reception!
It really was an awesome day. Relaxed, fun, emotional, all the things that you could possibly hope your wedding day to be.
Congratulations again Kassie and Adam!
